Old World 1-Lite 1-Panel Segment Cypress Wood Entry Double Doors – DbyD-3052

SKU: DbyD-3052 Category:

This pair of 30″ x 96″ Common Segment Distressed Cypress Doors were designed to go on the home of a well known Montgomery, Alabama architect. He bought this Contemporary Home new and did a major remake to change it to a Tucson look before ever moving in. My understanding is that it was featured in Veranda Magazine several years ago.
This pair of doors have carved raised panel at the bottom. We used a wide casing with a backband instead of brick mold on the outside and a double keystone at the top with a lion head. The door joints where stiles and rails meet have wood pegs that were shaped on the ends and left sticking out about 1/2″. The doors were distressed by sandblasting and the double floating raised panels were allowed to check or split on one side to add to the look. The doors were finished using a dark stain to give them an Old World look. The hardware is Period Brass and if you look close you will see that the door bell button has a lion head.
